How did you start playing pool?

I had a boyfriend with I was about 18 that played. I started playing to impress him. I met some girls that played in a Monday league - way back before Vegas rules even!. Started playing with them and was hooked.

Do you have any advice for beginners?

Learn the basics and don't try to do too much. I see more beginners trying to do things that the really advanced players do before they've even learned the basics of where the cue ball is going. You don't have to muscle everything.

Don't really have a favorite. I always cheer for the underdog.
