How did you start playing pool?

I started playing in college recreationally and then became serious when I moved back to Portland and started teaching, joined leagues etc.
Do you have any advice for beginners?

Practice, practice, practice. Focus on the fundamentals and remember that it is still a game, have fun and respect for your opponent.
